Super Cool Car Sep 30, 2008
By Norman S. Mitchell I was amazed at how this car is designed. Lego Technics just keep getting better. It took 2 nights to get this car built with my 8 year old son. The car is very sturdy and wont lose pieces easily when played with. It has a motor to control the suspension that can raise or lower about an inch. The same motor also powers the winch. Very cool. A lever diverts power to the suspension or the winch. The instructions can be challenging. Best to sort your bricks first into containers and have a large work area. This will be one car you will want to show your friends.

Awesome Lego but Awful packaging Apr 30, 2010
By Sergio Oses Puchkov This is a great piece from Lego Technic; I spend around 20 hours to build it, and everything works fine (all the power functions work as described in the box). I was very tired at the end but enjoyed all the assembly process; I just wish Lego would release products based on military stuff, like the M1 Abrams, that would be a remarkable Technic.
The only problem that I have, and it's actually really minor, is that Lego has this huge and almost empty box to store all the pieces and therefore the box is really fragile. My box got damaged during shipping and the blame is in one part for Lego (fragile box) and the other for the Reseller Shop4Toyz, for not adding enough padding in the box to protect the toy.
Aside from what I just said, the bottom line is that this is a great product from Lego and will buy another once there's a Technic that catches my interest.

good stuff Jan 12, 2009
By Peter Fontaine This is a very well thought through model. My son spent about 3 days putting it together. He is 12 and loves it. The model has a lot of great detail especially in the driveline. A bit pricy as all legos are, but a great model.

very good LEGO, but a one disappointment Apr 09, 2010 I got this LEGO for Christmas, I was very exited, I wored on it all day I finished very late at night, but when I went to go show it to my parents the power functions did not work, I was a little disapponided, and especilly for the price, my friend got the same set for Chrismas and built it with his dad and his didn't work either, but overall it is a very cool set and is still fun to play with, I thinck I'll try building it again, and it might be because I built it by my self, but this is still a very cool protuct.
The price is too high, but still lots of fun. Dec 29, 2011

Got a open box one with the price $55 at a local store. Very luck everything works well. I think the Shop4Toyz mark the price as $289.99 is too high. I can't find the price on LEGO official website. Base on the 2 Technics I ordered on LEGO official online store, I think the price should around $150.
The design is awesome. Thanks LEGO.
But the price is not good at all. Sometimes the Shop4Toyz mark the price too high. For example, the Official online store has the LEGO 8070 which priced as 119.99. However, Shop4toyz gave the list Price: $299.99 Price: $169.99. It seems save $130, in fact you can get it 119.99 + tax on shop.lego.com. It could be a sale or at least 199 vip points which equals $10 dollars. So the final price on shop.lego.com is about $120. Just do enough homework to make sure you make a smart decision on the LEGO Technic high end products.
